Gathering Aether
You can gather aether vortex at any locations where flight is enabled

Here is how you gather: double click or right click on any aether vortex, however you need to have your aethertapping skill which is equal or higher than vortex level.

While you are aethertapping make sure you dont try to move or attack, this will cancel gathering aether.

Aethertap skill level
If name of vortex appears pink then your aethertapping skill level isn't high enough.

If your aether tapping level is 20 level higher or equal to required level then vortex name appears like vibrant yeallow color. 
Furthermore if more than 20 or 29 levels above it, then the  name will appear to be light yellow colour. The name will show as white between 30 and 39 points above it. And if you get 40 or more points above the minimum, the vortex name will look grey.

Each colour represents the rate at which aethertapping that vortex will raise your level, with vibrant yellow colour aethertapping is fastest, if your vortex name appears to be gray then your Aethertapping level will not increase by aethertapping it.

Success and failure Bar. Red denotes failure, whereas blue indicates success. It all depends on which bar is filled first.
Your aethertapping will go more quickly and with less likelihood of failure if it is higher above necessary level of a vortex.

Flight CD
Keep any eye on your remaining flight time and make sure to land safely on time. 
Using a flight gear will give you more flight time. You can socket all flight manastones and get higher flight time.

When your Aethertapping level will be high then you can tap high level Aether from vortexes. 
Higher level aethers can be sold more more kinah at trade broker.

Your Aether Skill Level and Type of Aether received
1 - 99 = Aether Powder
100 - 199 = Aether Crystal
200 - 299 = Aether Gem
300 - 399 = Aether
400+ = Magical Aether
Note: 
To extract any magical aether you need aethertapping tool which is a aether extractor. You can buy them from general good merchant or  in sanctum or pandaemonium.

There might be some limit to buy them to avoid over selling them.

 

Aethertapping Hats
Wearing a aethertapping hat will let you find aether quickly as you can see them on map move your mouse closer and see what level it is.

The hats will help you locate aether quickly, at higher level you can purchase better hats to view more.
